Going into this game, I was hoping for an early Christmas present in the form of a West Coast victory over Canberra.
It’s no secret the Capitals have been struggling this season (and their usually vocal/bandwagon fans are yet to be seen or heard on the usual online forums) and after the Waves came close to defeating Logan on the road, I had been holding out hope of an upset.
Unfortunately, Caps rookie forward Brigitte Ardossi decided to rob me of my Christmas wish, putting up career best numbers of 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead Canberra to only their fourth win of the season.

I’d like to know where this year has gone!
For a year that felt like it was going at a snail’s pace at times, it feels like the end of the year has crept up on me. It’s also a timely reminder that I need to do some Christmas shopping sooner rather than later.
At least the new year brings with it the Hopman Cup, one of my favourite events of the year, and a chance to get some tennis photos (yes, I do take photos of things other than basketball, one day I might even post about them here).

While it’s nice to know my blog is getting out there, it would be nice to have one legit comment from someone, anyone…
It felt odd not to have an NBL or WNBL game in Perth over the weekend. From memory, there is only one other basketball free weekend until Christmas, so perhaps I should have done more than sleep, back up photos (onto my shiny new 2TB hard drive) and watch the NBL and WNBL coverage on OneHD and the ABC, respectively.
Speaking of the WNBL, props to the Logan Thunder handing the Canberra Capitals their first loss of the season, even though they did their best to give the game the game to the Caps in the dying stages.
Surely I’m sure not the only WNBL follower out there that would like a team other than the Capitals to take out the championship this year?
